Bing Ads to Have Greater Uniformity with Google AdWords

Posted on 11.10.2014

As mobile continues to play a larger part in consumers' every day routine it's important that advertisers are easily able to display their messages on mobile devices.

Bing has announced two changes to their ad campaigns that will be going into effect in March 2015 that concentrate on the mobile channel.

The first change that Bing is planning for its ad campaigns is the introduction of app extensions. The new app extension ads will enable marketers to promote their apps for download on Android, iOS and Windows Phone devices. The download recommendation will automatically read the users device and OS combination to display the correct download.

The second change that Bing announced is meant to create greater uniformity between the more popular Google AdWords and itself. Bing will be changing how it displays its device targeting options to more closely resemble that of Google’s. With the new changes Bing states “there should be complete compatibility between how ad campaigns are managed in google AdWords and in Bing Ads.”
