Bing Testing Facebook Posts in Knowledge Panel
Facebook is providing Bing a good opportunity to differentiate its search experience for consumers in a rather unique way, and the two actually have quite a long history of collaboration.
Bing first began showing brands' Facebook posts in the knowledge panels of their search results last year (May 2015) but stopped a short time later and started displaying brands social links. Now it appears, however, that Bing is showing Facebook posts again - although not for every brand and certainly not for every search query.
In the image below, the Home Depot knowledge panel at Bing shows two of the most recent Facebook posts. When clicked, the user is directed to the actual post on the brands official page.
Bing has not officially announced any formal program related to showing Facebook posts in the knowledge panel of search results, so this is obviously only a test, but a test with significant potential.
