Bing Translates WordPress Blogs

Posted on 4.28.2014

Ready to cater to a more international audience with your WordPress blog?

Microsoft Open Technologies, which works on open-source software and solutions and the interchangeability between Microsoft and non-Microsoft technologies, has released a new Bing Translator plugin.

The plugin, which runs on WordPress sites running version 3.8 or later, enables website visitors to translate a site into any of the 40-plus supported languages without leaving the page. The plugin even provides an option for setting a color scheme as well as an option to allow visitors to suggest translations, which is really what makes the plugin so unique.

Translation plugins available to WordPress blogs, at least those that provided pure machine-based translations, have been considered lackluster on the whole by the WordPress community. There's no replacement for human insight into context in some instances and Microsoft's plugin takes full advantage of the existing opportunity.
