Bing Unveils New Preview and Diagnostic Tools for Ads

Coming in as the second most popular search engine on the Web behind Google, Bing is has solidified itself as an important channel for merchants to leverage.

For those that have already taken to advertising on the search engine, it is important that they understand how and when their ads are going to display but also to understand what went wrong in the event they are not showing up.

Bing has recently announced the addition of a new ad preview and diagnostics tool for merchants to review how their mobile and product ads are displaying.

With the new tool merchants are not only able to choose whether or not they want their ads to be displayed on mobile devices but they are able to specifically identify which devices they want their ad displayed on. To use the new tool, merchants simply select the mobile device option under the “Advanced targeting options” section on their Bing ads account. Also, Bing released a new way for merchants to be informed as to why their product ads are not displaying for their selected keywords. Through the “Product Ads” tab in the diagnosis table, merchants will be able to receive actionable feedback as to why their ads are not displaying. By selecting the short summary in the “Reason for not showing” column, merchants will find out the exact reason for why their ad is not showing.
