Bing Will Show Local Product Data

Microsoft and Local Corporation announced a deal last week that will see data from the latter’s Krillion shopping platform (which it acquired in 2011) appear in Bing’s local search results.

Bing has long been known as friendly to retailers, but is obviously sensing some pressure from Google with that networks release and ongoing rollout of Product Listing Ads.

Participating retailers include some big names in offline retail, including BestBuy, Costco, Home Depot, Kmart, Nordstrom, Wal-Mart and many others.

Indexed products and some supporting data (a layer showcasing in-store availability, comparison pricing, current discounts and images) from these stores will be available on Bing – likely before the holiday shopping season kicks off in a few weeks time.
