Bon Appétit – Menus on Foursquare
Foursquare is making its service more and more enticing for local businesses – especially local businesses in the food industry.
The social location-based network not only recently introduced the explore feature for desktops, which is a social/local search option, but now has also partnered with SinglePlatform, which is a startup that puts restaurant menus online.
Currently, Foursquare and SinglePlatform have already put more than 13 million menu items at almost 250,000 restaurants on the social network, with more on the way. Users can find and click through menus on the right-hand side of participating venue pages. Additionally, many of these restaurant menus include pricing icons, so that users can estimate how fancy their dining experience may be.
All of the menus that appear on Foursquare have been put up through SinglePlatform, meaning that restaurants must make their menus available to SinglePlatform in order to have them appear on Foursquare. The menus are already available on foursquare.com and m.foursquare.com, and will soon be coming to Foursquare apps.
