Boost Customer Confidence (and Profit) With Shopping Guarantees

Internet retailers that can successfully convince online shoppers they are trustworthy routinely experience higher levels of consumer confidence and, more importantly, profits. And software systems designed for online merchants are doing what they can to lend a virtual hand in this regard.

E-commerce solution 3dcart, for example, will be providing its merchants a solution to boost the confidence of their visitors, providing discounts on Norton Shopping Guarantee by Symantec Corporation, an offering designed to help merchants puts their online shoppers' fears to rest by offering identity theft protection and purchase guarantees.

And it may just work. According to the company, 75 percent of consumers report increased trust in a merchant with Norton Shopping Guarantee, and 77 percent say they are more likely to return to the store because of it. Merchants could also benefit from a boost in customer confidence, typically reporting an increase of 7 percent in website conversion and sales, and a 5 percent increase in repeat buyers as shoppers develop trust for the merchant.
