Boost Revenue with Gift Cards on Mobile

Mobile commerce reached $4.7 billion in Q2 of 2013 according to comScore, proving that merchants who haven’t intertwined this channel into their digital strategies are definitely losing revenue opportunities.

To help retailers succeed in this channel, transaction services company InComm has unveiled a mobile solution for gift cards. The solution enables consumers to purchase and send both digital and physical gift cards with their mobile device, either from within the retailer’s mobile app or through a mobile-optimized site’s shopping cart. To leverage the feature, retailers can either include a link on their mobile-optimized website or the feature can be built into mobile apps via the solution’s Digital Enterprise API.

Consumers can click on the gift card link from their mobile devices, which launches the mobile-optimized gift card shopping cart. At that point consumers can choose if they want a physical or digital gift card, pick a card design, select the amount they want to purchase the card for and include a personal message. After the order is complete the gift card is either emailed or mailed to the recipient. Moreover, the solution provides retailers with insights into card usage.

By providing a quick and easy way to purchase physical or digital gift cards via mobile, companies can significantly increase sales opportunities.”
