BREAKING: "Not Secure" Warnings Arrive in Google Search Console

Google Chrome Now Signaling "Not Secure" Sites In New Instances, Notifies Website Owners Via Search Console

Google has recently been sending notifications through Search Console to website owners that are using forms on HTTP (non-secure) pages.

Web professionals have been anticipating the change for several months so there should really be no surprise here but it could be unsettling for those that ignored the warnings.

Google also indicated within the emails that beginning in Oct. 2017, Chrome will begin showing the "Not Secure" warning in two additional situations - when users enter data on an HTTP page and on all pages that are visited in Incognito mode.

The notifications that Google sent within Search Console provide the specific locations where HTTPS needs to be added by the website owner and even goes as far as to provide some details on how to migrate to HTTPS.
