Brightcove Collects Massive Library for Video Cloud Publishers
Renowned cloud content services provider Brightcove recently launched its Brightcove Content Exchange initiative.
The effort aims to bring together select Brightcove offering video libraries videos with media publishers using Brightcove's Video Cloud platform. Among the coalition of partners are AOL Video, Diagonal View, NewsLook, Internet Video Archive, Touchstorm and ScreenPlay, Inc.
Now, Video Cloud media customers will be able to access any and all of these cooperating third-party libraries full of various types of video content, as well as execute advertising strategies built around licensed content. In addition, participating Content Exchange partners will have streamlined access to new distribution through Video Cloud media industry customers from all over the world.
Partners have already begun filling up their libraries with video content from a wide variety of categories, from news to sports to entertainment and much more, and Brightcove will take the initiative to facilitate introductions among the Content Exchange partners and other publishers to introduce direct transactions for licensing agreements and ad revenue economics among the various companies. Content partners and specified publishers will then be able to share content amongst one another in a way that lets content owners retain essential controls, while publishers will be able to determine how and where said content will be published.
Brightcove is also releasing APIs for Video Cloud that let content owners stop sharing content as they choose and make it easy for publishers to identify each video’s owner, as well as APIs that let publishers dynamically change the ad source within their video players to facilitate sophisticated revenue-sharing arrangements for previously licensed content.
