Can Your Network Handle the Added Stress of New Features?
As brands look to provide ever-more elaborate and engaging experiences to their consumers they must make sure their networks can take the additional stress that the new features can cause.
TestPlant, a provider of automated tools for software development, has recently announced the launch of eggPlant Network, a product that enables test and operations teams to emulate network conditions.
Through eggPlant Network users are able to test and measure how different network conditions affect the user experience. To use, testers tell eggPlant Network where the client and the server are located and what the network connection and its condition are. From there, eggPlant Network automatically configures an emulation of the connection.
Other products in the eggPlant family include, among others, eggPlant Functional, eggPlant Mobile and eggCLoud.

“Today’s applications have to communicate over networks and their perceived performance is greatly affected by the type and state of these connections. Previously, if testing of networks was included, near-perfect internal networks were used giving optimistically favorable results,” says Antony Edwards, CTO of TestPlant. “We’ve introduced eggPlant Network to inject realism into the whole test environment.”
