Change Your Look: A More Versatile Visual Interface for Customer Service
Looksery, a company that makes face-tracking and face-modifying technology for real-time video, recently announced that its technology is now available for call center implementations (and is adapting - and licensing - its tech for handset manufacturers, mobile carriers and other video communication services).
Limited to VoIP software and cartoon-ish animated avatars in the past, putting an actual/real (and, in some cases, improved) face to customer service brings a new dimension to the digital experience (which have been trending toward self-service options of late). Looksery's software provides photorealistic visual effects that seem far more human that what's been made available and what's more, the opportunity to optimize what's seen is going to be a big selling point for brand conscious enterprises.
What is interesting about Looksery's software (beside the fact that it was funded as a Kickstarter project) is that it tracks facial features and expressions to turn faces into "photo-real" 3D avatars in real time. The avatars's appearance can be alteraed to have a thinner face, more striking eyes, and even better skin.
"We couldn't be more excited to help call centers enter a new era of enhanced face-to-face support," said Victor Shaburov, Looksery's CEO. "Let's face it, calling customer service isn't always an experience people look forward to. As customer service goes in a more visual direction, empowering representatives to consistently look and communicate their best puts a confident and promising face on the industry's future."
