As companies look to expand their App Annie, an app analytics company, has recently released its latest report on app usage in Q1 2015 titled "Insights Into App Engagement Q1 2015."

One of the many interesting findings from the report is that in every key market within the report, Communication and Social categories accounted for at least 40 percent of Android smartphone sessions with either Communication or Social ranking first in all five countries studied for time spent per active user. Another interesting finding from the study is that of the five countries studied (U.S., UK, Germany, Japan and South Korea) Facebook was one of the top three most used apps, in terms of sessions and time spent on, for each country besides Japan.

Other interesting findings within the report include the amount of time Android users spent on mobile games as well as combined iOS App Store and Google Play revenue.
