While consumers do not always have to pay shipping fees, businesses on the Web have no choice but to pay them on every single item sold.

Shipping fees depend on a number of factors (e.g. size, weight, etc.) and depending on how those factors add up it can be quite costly for businesses. In order for businesses to make sure they are getting the best deal they must shop around which adds to the amount of time spent on the order.

ASAP Systems, an automated data collection and asset tracking company, has announced a shipping update to their cloud-based online asset and inventory tracking system, BarCloud.

The update enables businesses to compare shipping costs from DHL, FedEx, USPS and UPS and print the selected label all from inside the program. Prior to the update, BarCloud users were able to view only one shipping quote at a time and were only able to print labels for FedEx shipments.

"The new shipping options are also available on the BarCloud mobile app to make for a more flexible and accessible online inventory shipping process starting from when the inventory is issued out until it is shipped," says Greg Wachowiak, vice president at ASAP Systems.
