Data Security in the Cloud Takes Center Stage
Cloud security solution Bitglass (which enables users to secure BYOD and cloud apps such as Google Apps, Salseforce, Microsoft 365 and Box) has announced it received $25 million in Series B funding this week, bringing its total funding to $35 million.
New investors include SingTel Innov8, the venture investing arm of SingTel Group, an Asian communications group with over 500 million mobile customers. SingTel Innov8 joins New Enterprise Associates and Norwest, who also participated in the funding round.
The capital infusion will be used to expand the company's sales, marketing and technology development of Bitglass’ Total Data Protection solution (which secures corporate data in the cloud, at access and on mobile devices).
“Data security takes center stage in this era of cloud and mobile,” said Jeff Karras, managing director of SingTel Innov8. “Bitglass is a leader in the US and we look forward to helping them gain global momentum.”
