Data Visualization for the Digital Masses
As more companies adopt the public cloud, it makes sense to have tools that can help them understand their bill and optimize spending.
Data visualization service DataHero has been acquired by Cloudability, a startup that helps companies track spending on public cloud infrastructures. Cloudability has been active with acquisitions, snapping up CloudVertical, RipFrog and Attribo in the past year.
The combined services will enable companies to take in data from a variety of sources (including subscription billing data from a service like Zuora and engagement or conversion data from Google Analytics) and get useful derived metrics. This approach will help companies save money and time on research and developing by reusing tech across both products.
The acquisition makes a lot of sense considering all of the other acquisitions in the vertical - for example, Cloudera bought DataPad, Salesforce bought EdgeSpring, Zendesk bought BIME and Microsoft bought Datazen.
