Demandware Unveils Next-Generation Store Solution

Enterprise cloud commerce solutions provider Demandware took another step toward unified commerce with the launch of its next generation of Demandware Store.

The point-of-sale (POS) and store operations solution provides retailers with innovation, updates and scalability. What’s more, the company’s charter program for early adopter customers enables Demandware to incorporate best practices and product guidance from brands like Timbuk2 and vineyard vines.

“More than a decade ago Demandware disrupted the ecommerce market with a cloud solution, breaking the mold of stale behind-the-firewall products,” said Tom Ebling, chief executive officer at Demandware. “Demandware Store provides the same continuous innovation model so retailers can constantly stay ahead of consumer demands. New POS, mPOS, clientelling and back office features can be added throughout the year with seamless cloud updates – breaking the cycle of forklift upgrades from traditional providers to add new capability.”

It is important to note that Demandware Store combines traditional POS functionality – like sales, returns and exchanges – with advanced store operations functionality – like perpetual inventory, receiving and real-time reporting – via mobile devices. Plus, with real-time access to store and enterprise information, store associates can engage customers on the sales floor and deliver a consistent experience across touchpoints.

Demandware Store leverages the Demandware Commerce Cloud to deliver capabilities like full POS functionality, assisted selling, an easy-to-use mobile interface for key performance indicator (KPI) dashboards, back office operations and store reporting. In addition, the solution features open commerce APIs that allow for easy customization and integration to third-party solutions, as well as isolated payment connection and resilient failover service to ensure uninterrupted checkout regardless of temporary connectivity disruptions.
