Digital Personalization with a Handwriting API

Personalizing the digital experience requires more than just delivering what users want, when and where they want it (although that is obviously a major part of it).

Personalization is also about giving a brand a virtual face so to speak, some uniqueness that can be recognized and appreciated by end-users (existing clients and prospective customers). When trust is in play, anything is possible (including a conversion) right? Right.

For this reason, digital designers are continually looking for ways to make their brands stand out and feel more personal. There are many ways to do that, of course, and one wholly creative approach is through the use of fonts - particularly handwritten fonts.

Testing and integrating fonts can be a costly endeavor.

There is at least one solution that has emerged from the digital ether, however, that will force brands and designers to rethink handwriting altogether. It's called Handwriting.io and it's impressive and highly utilitarian for all the right reasons.

Handwriting.io is not a font - but rather a technology that captures up to 25 glyphs per character and selects each glyph based on the surrounding letters to mimic the natural variations of handwriting. In essence, it looks like real handwriting but it's done through code (see image). The unique handwriting technology can be integrated into an application using Handwriting.io's API; images are rendered in various file forms and resolutions.

The solution is perfect for anyone that is interested in sending handwritten messages to end-users. It could potentially be integrated into a CRM to send a personal note to sales prospects, create upsell opportunities in e-commerce or even to send greeting cards (without bringing out pen and paper).
