Don't Be So Lazy; PitchEngine or Custom Newsroom?

Posted on 6.24.2009

Social PR platform PitchEngine has released a customizable social media newsrooms to serve as a communications hub for brands or clients includneces and customers.

The newly designed service enables brands to integrate their social feeds from Twitter, Flickr, YouTube and PitchEngine into one place making it easy for consumers, journalists and bloggers to find them through the social web. "For the first time, brands will have a place to steer website visitors to where they can connect with them on the various social sites directly from their newsroom," said Jason Kintzler, PitchEngine Founder and CEO.

Perhaps the most ridiculous aspect of the PitchEngine Newsroom is that subscriptions cost $50/mo or $550/yr. While they do include unlimited archiving and hosting of one brand's releases, in my professional opinion, you'd have to be most un-tech savvy to even consider it a solution like PitchEngine to host content of this nature.

Hardees has a social media newsroom. I'm confident that once you see what this looks like, you'll agree that with a custom domain name, a wordpress installation and a few plugins, you can do the same.
