E-commerce Spend by Country
According to data from statistics firm Statista, residents of Hong Kong spend far more than any one place on earth.
The average consumer spends $2,686 per year online shopping from Hong Kong. The country with the next highest spend online is Norway with an average of $2,448 per consumers. Israel rounds out the top three in most online spending per capita with $2,171.
What the research reveals is that online spending correlates with country wealth. Consider, for example, residents of the Phillipines, who spend an average of just $38 per year online.
