eBay AMPs Up Transactional Pages

While Google's accelerated mobile project initiative (AMP) has been somewhat slow to take off (depending on what person you talk to or what post that you read), there could be a future beyond news-oriented (publishing) websites and it could accelerate adoption dramatically across the entire digital ecosystem.

In what many are considering to be the first major deployment of AMP on a non-news site, eBay recently announced that they are now serving over 8 million pages using AMP. The marketplace deployed AMP for many product and category-based page (for mobile only) and even provided example URLs of some pages (here and here) that support it.

Ebay revealed that the amp/ parameter can be added to any browser URL when on the mobile site to see the AMP version. Here are examples of the URL:
