Ecwid Unveils Native E-Commerce App Solution
Ecwid has launched a native e-commerce app solution called ShopApp.
ShopApp is bundled into Ecwid’s core product and does not rely on third party extensions, enabling Ecwid merchants to offer an e-commerce app for iOS and Android phones without having to write any coding.
It is typically difficult for small businesses to offer a native e-commerce app, as it is both expensive to craete and time consuming to maintain. For example, developers have to submit the app to iTunes and Google Play, as well as update the app regularly to maintain and synchronize it with the retailer’s e-commerce solution. ShopApp, however, makes it simple for small retailers to offer an automated e-commerce app.
It is also important to note that ShopApp enables customers to checkout with Apple Pay or Android Pay, as well as gives access to mobile-exclusive features like push notifications and geography-based promotional items. What's more, ShopApp’s store content, including inventory, prices and product descriptions, is synchronized and integrated with a merchant’s online store.
“With ShopApp, Ecwid is making a huge leap in how native ecommerce mobile apps are created and operate for smaller retailers globally,” said Ecwid President Jim O’Hara. “Similar to how the dramatic innovation in web development introduced by DIY sitebuilders like Wix, WordPress and Weebly democratized website creation, Ecwid now allows our merchants to create their own ecommerce apps instantly.”
