Editor's Letter: Special Email Delivery (Website Magazine June 2017)

Posted on 6.01.2017
june-2017-coverThose digital businesses that continually feel as though they are at the mercy of search engine algorithms or take a backseat to paying advertisers on social media or the massive networks of today’s crop of influencers, should know that there is an alternative way to drive awareness, traffic and conversions and it consistently performs at a similar or greater level.

While there are some challenges with the practice, email is a marketing and engagement channel that should top the list for every brand. One of the reasons that the email channel remains an important part of the digital marketing mix is because it continues to be one of the most effective opportunities brands have to achieve their goals and objectives. In fact, an Econsultancy study from 2016 found that three-quarters of companies agree that email offers an “excellent” to “good” return on investment. And, consumers do not think as negatively about the channel as those in the search and social media industries might lead you to believe. In fact, 86 percent of consumers, for example, indicated they would like to receive promotional emails from companies they do business with at least monthly and 15 percent suggested they would not be averse to receiving those messages daily.

It may seem like good news all around, but companies still are not making the best use of the opportunity with Marketing Profs reporting that just 23 percent of marketers have integrated their website and emails to track what happens after a click.

There is obviously a long way to go, and Website Magazine’s June 2017 issue aims to provide the guidance necessary to help brands accelerate their success in the email channel. In our feature article this month, readers will discover some of the most exciting and effective email-related solutions for improving business performance and the underlying processes that make it possible.

In addition to our feature article, our editors and contributors share a great deal of information on a variety of important topics including content marketing, search engine optimization trends, engagement tactics, progressive Web apps, conversion optimization and more.

As always, we hope you enjoy this issue of Website Magazine and encourage you to visit us on the 'Net where we publish daily on the subjects that matter most to your online success.

Best Web Wishes,
