The Pursuit of Digital Quality

Quality is a difficult concept to pin down, as it is defined in so many different ways and in so many different circumstances.

Of course, there’s a general understanding of what it means — most commonly, it is simply a “general excellence of standard.” That’s an acceptable definition, but it’s not enough if you work in the digital trenches every day. Rarely is “quality” something that anyone can point to (definitively at least) and say, “that’s it, that’s quality.” And the “quality” issue only gets more complicated when we move deeper into the Web.

Internet professionals must make many considerations in relation to the quality of their websites and broader digital efforts — the visual, the promotional and the technical.

Quality isn’t easy to obtain, but as Website Magazine readers will discover in this month’s feature by Managing Editor Amberly Dressler, there are many methods that can be used to get Internet professionals and their digital businesses one step closer to the standard of excellence their customers and businesses deserve.

Quality isn’t just addressed in the feature article this month; our editorial staff has addressed the role of quality in every article and at every turn to help your enterprise accelerate its ‘Net success. Readers will find practical guidance on improving the security of websites and applications, lessons on building and maintaining credibility and insights into creating a better experience for users through site-search functionality. But that’s just the beginning; there’s a whole lot more related to developing and managing a quality digital presence covered in this issue, including email, social, hosting, advertising, analytics and more, and you’re encouraged to start exploring right away.

Enjoy this issue and visit us at www.WebsiteMagazine.com to experience our in-depth coverage of what is popular and trending in the world of Web business and discover what Internet professionals, like you, need to know to achieve digital success.

Best Web Wishes,
