Email List Quality and Cleansing in Focus

Email remains one of the primary digital marketing channels, but the practice can be as risky as it can be rewarding. 

One of the major stumbling blocks senders encounter relates directly to the health of their list. Say, for example, that marketers start noticing a decrease in open rate or an increase in spam complaints. What is the reason?  More often than not, it comes down to the quality of the sender's list (the consumer and their email address). 

With some regular cleansing, however, senders' list quality can be improved dramatically. Fortunately, there is an interesting solution available from a rather notable name in the email industry that can help alleviate poor deliverability and performance. 

FreshAddress recently announced the release of a free (yes, free) list check tool that will enable senders to assess the health of their email list. Upload an email list and FreshAddress will check for invalid email addresses, (using its co-op database of recent email sends) spamtraps (referencing its knowledge base of trap providers and 100MM retired accounts) and forced sign-ups (identifying  temporary/disposable accounts and bogus entries). 

Sending to invalid and problematic email addresses costs you money. It hurts your ability to reach the inbox and opens the door to getting blocked and/or blacklisted.
