End Shopping Cart Abandonment with MailChimp, WooCommerce
Ask any online retailer and they will tell you point blank that one of there biggest problem is that of shopping cart abandonment. Consumers visit the site, add a product to the cart, and then leave (often unexpectedly).
It's been a problem for years of course (research shows that 67 percent of online shopping cars are abandoned before the customer completes a sale), but solutions are emerging which hope to reduce or limit the impact the occurence.
Earler this year, for example, MailChimp introduced abandoned cart email sfor e-commerce platforms including Shopify, Magento and custom API 3.0 store connections and this week has done the same with a plugin for WooCommerce. Users will be able to create targeted email campaigns based on buying behavior, create custom workflows, send product recommendations and view the results.
The typical user, according to MailChimp, experiences a 2% increase in total store orders just by sending abandoned cart messages. The company found that the average MailChimp user is earning about $12.50 per day—that’s $375 a month—from recaptured sales generated by their abandoned cart emails.
