Content optimization platform, best known for a content analytics product dubbed Dash, officially announced the availability of its Dash API. If you’ve been following the whole content marketing craze, then you’ll be excited by what’s possible with a dash of the Dash API.

The new API taps into the metadata collected through its analytics product in order to ultimately provide customizable content recommendations (e.g. top stories) for visiting website users.

The API also provides access to real time data collected through the analytics product, ideal for content publishers (writers, bloggers, journalists, etc. ) which includes traffic and social data on articles, author specific metrics, section overviews, referral sources and even information on specific topics discussed within the content.

Needless to say, armed with that type and depth of information, being able to write to and for your audience directly can provide an immense amount of business value.

The Dash API is already in use by Conde Nast digital property Ars Technica, which implemented the Dash API in two areas, a site overlay and a recommendations engine. The site overlay displays real-time page view data on top of the Ars Technica homepage, allowing editors and writers to respond quickly to trends and to adjust article distribution pathways.

Other customers using the Dash publisher analytics include Meredith Publishing, The Atlantic, Mashable, The Next Web, and US News.
