Expected Boom in M-Commerce Requires Extra Security for Brands
Sales in m-commerce (mobile commerce) are predicted to rise from an expected $204 billion in 2014 all the way to $626 billion in 2018.
With such a drastic increase in m-commerce sales, it’s evident that enterprises are going to have to ramp up their security in order to protect their image as well as their products.
MarkMonitor, an enterprise brand protection company, has announced the availability of MarkMonitor Brand Protection for mobile apps. The new service allows brands to detect and remove cases of brand infringement or misuse in mobile app marketplaces. MarkMonitor will also protect brands by discovering non-compliant uses of trademarks and logos by app-developers and partners.

“Consumers are flocking to mobile channels to research and make purchases and where consumers go, so do scammers,” said Frederick Felman, chief marketing officer of MarkMonitor. “Brands need to be prepared to protect their revenue and reputation in today’s mobile world.”
