Exposing PIN to Unauthorized Users

How secure is the personally identifiable information of your customers and website users? According to a new survey from GreenSQL, many companies could do a whole lot better when it comes to protecting those valuable assets.

According to the GreenSQL survey of IT professionals, 65 percent take no preventative measures to secure sensitive data. Just 23 percent use masking techniques (such as dummy data or scrambling) but only in non-production environments, leaving 12 percent deploying dynamic data masking solutions on production environments.

"Most companies would say protecting customer data is critical to maintaining their business and reputation," said GreenSQL CEO, Amir Sadeh. "However, something is wrong when we discover that many IT departments are making no masking efforts whatsoever, and others are taking tepid approaches."
