Facebook Bets on TheFind for Better Ads

Posted on 3.19.2015

Facebook is focusing on delivering better ads to its users with the social network’s recent acquisition of TheFind.

TheFind is a discovery shopping search engine where users can shop for items from a variety of online retailers. With the acquisition, TheFind will be shutting down its digital shopping platform to join forces with Facebook in the next few weeks. According to the company’s announcement, key members of TheFind’s team will join Facebook to help integrate the shopping engine’s technology with the social network. In doing so, the two aim to make Facebook ads better and more relevant to users on the social network.

“For the last nine years, we've worked hard to bring you a shopping experience that's easy, efficient and fun - searching all the stores on the Web to find just the right products you're looking to buy,” TheFind’s announcement states. “We are now starting our next chapter by combining forces with Facebook to do even more for consumers. Facebook's resources and platform give us the opportunity to scale our expertise in product sourcing to the over 1 billion people that use the platform.”
