Facebook Messenger Becomes More Relevant
Facebook has unveiled an updated version of its Messenger app that presents more relevant information to users.
For starters, users will now see the first few most recent messages at the top of their screen, followed by a new “Favorites” section that highlights people that are messaged the most frequently. This makes it easier for users to connect and pick up on previous conversations.
In addition to these sections, Messenger is featuring an “Active Now” section that shows people who are currently available to talk. Plus, Facebook has added reminders for birthdays in order to make it effortless for users to reach out with well wishes. The goal of the update is to make Messenger simpler to use by presenting more relevant information.
“With over 900 million people using Messenger every month, Messenger is the place where you can connect with the people and businesses you care about most,” Facebook said in its announcement. “You can also now do more than just send and receive messages. From sending your favorite emoji (ours are brand new) to chatting with businesses, getting your news delivered just how you like it or making a video call — there’s lots to experience on Messenger.”
