Facebook Unveils Like Button for Mobile Apps

Posted on 10.03.2014

Facebook has unveiled a new “Like” button for Android and iOS mobile app developers.

The button, which was previewed at f8, enables people using a 3rd party mobile app to Like the app’s Facebook Page or any Open Graph object from directly within the app, as well as share content on Facebook.

According to Facebook’s announcement, there are many parts of an app where developers can display the Like button. For example, the button can be displayed as soon as someone logs into the app or after a user reaches a certain level of engagement within the app. Moreover, developers have the ability to test different positions of the button in order to discover the location that leads to the best engagement.

It is important to note that this new button makes it more significant for developers to offer an engaging Facebook Page to their audience. Through their Page, developers can keep audiences up-to-date with information related to their app or game, as well as provide tips, start conversations and reach audience members through ads.
