Fastest Mobile Sites this Black Friday
Forget Thanksgiving – or even Black Friday – holiday shopping started very early on Wednesday evening, according to Dynatrace, which is closely watching online retail site performance across the United States.
Shopping isn't only starting earlier (although Black Friday and Cyber Monday still reign supreme), but how people shop is also changing. In its holiday survey, Dynatrace found that consumers would be depending on their mobile devices even more this year – not for couch shopping but to complement their in-store shopping experience. As such, Dynatrace has already begun monitoring the top 10 fastest mobile sites this holiday shopping season and Sears came out the clear winner. The average number of seconds it takes to load Sears’s homepage from the Dynatrace Mobile Synthetic Network is .85 seconds, followed by Costco (1.61), Office Depot (1.66) and REI (2.09).
Rounding out the top 10 for fastest mobile websites are: Saks Fifth Avenue (2.14), Tiger Direct (2.49), Amway (2.65), Walgreens (2.71), Dell (2.94) and Newegg (2.99). By comparison, some of the bottom retail performers were in the 6-21 seconds range.
