Floral Customers Using Bitcoin Spend 50% More than CC Users
Bitcoin just might be bringing business back to local businesses all over the country - at least, if BloomNation.com, an online marketplace, has anything to say about it.
According to BloomNation.com, it is the only flower site accepting Bitcoin as a way to pay – allowing its online customers to use Bitcoin to buy from more than 2,500 local florists in more than 3,000 cities nationwide, of course all in one place.
BloomNation.com has a variety of reasons for accepting this digital currency, but one of the reasons is that it has found that customers using Bitcoin, on average, spend 50 percent more than credit card users.
Additionally, BloomNation.com has found that by accepting Bitcoin, it is reaching a niche market of people who normally wouldn't buy flowers. Since it accepts the form of currency (a disruptive force in the financial industry), it is increasing its customer base.
This announcement from the flowers and gifts website comes on the heels of tremendous momentum with funding from Andreessen Horowitz, Spark Capital, Chicago Ventures and CrunchFund.
