Foursquare Ads Open Up to All SMBs
After an initial limited introduction to self-serve ads, location-based social network Foursquare officially opened up advertising capabilities to all small businesses on its platform.
The ads are built to be “simple and flexible” and leverage the social network’s data and relationships from more than 1.5 million claimed businesses over the past four years, according to a blog post from the company. In order to create Foursquare ads, business owners simply need to choose images that represent their companies and then offer specials or highlight positive customer tips. Once monthly budgets are sets, ads can then be pushed live for nearby customers to view.
Merchants can monitor how many people have viewed their ads, how many people have tapped on them and how many people checked in to their stores via an ad performance dashboard. According to the Fourquare blog, the ads have been tested with a thousand businesses over the last few months and achieved positive results.
