FourSquare Fosters Trip Planning
The success of social media platforms demands that users connect and share with regularity - the more activity, the more chances they will have to display advertising to support their enterprise initiatives.
Struggling check-in company FourSquare, whose business has been pretty much taken over by the search engines (primarily Google), has announced ‘Foursquare Trip Tips’ to invite its users to also use the app when planning their next adventure, providing a great way to accelerate user activity.
User types where their next trip will take place and Foursquare then provides a URL that can be shared (through email or on other social networks. Foursquare then tabulates responses into a map and directs users to specific places suggested. The map can then be saved to a mobile device (for offline viewing presumably).
