Fraud Detection in Customer Identify
Customer identify and access management (CIAM) solution Janrain has eliminating (reducing) fraud in its virtual sights, announcing this week that it is the first CIAM offering to integrate a fraud detection score into its product.
Janrain's new fraud score will essentially warn brands of potential problems by running a background check on new users (leveraging AI-based Web traffic pattern analysis) to determine if the phone number associated with the identify is known for bad behavior (such as being a known sender of spam, or responsible for logging into a site repeatedly).
What's really interesting here is that the Janrain score will enable companies to make actual decision about how to treat rogue identities during registration, sign-in, or (and arguably most importantly) completion of high-value transactions.
