Gathering Essential SEO Data with MozBar
SEO software solution Moz has released a new version of the MozBar browser extension (available now in Chrome with support for Firefox in the next few weeks).
The SEO-focused browser extension provides on-page access to Moz's link metrics and website analysis tools, focusing on SERP analysis, site/competitor research and link profile analysis.
The SERP analysis feature is interesting in that as users search Google, Yahoo or Bing, the MozBar shows statistics about the results. Separate search profiles for different engines and locations can be created and the results can be exported to a CSV file. The MozBar extension even offers users access to Moz authority data and search metrics next to each result, making the "deconstruction" of a search result - why sites may appear where they do - much easier.
The MozBar's competitive research features will also be welcomed by those responsible for search engine optimization. The extension shows link metrics including MozRank, Domain Authority and even sub-domain metrics. The extension highlights followed, nofollowed, external, and internal links so you'll never have to dig through the source code on your own ever again.
Perhaps the most interesting feature of the MozBar extension is the information it provides about a page's inbound links, including comparisons to teh site's domain and sub-domain. In this, the third iteration of the MozBar, users can also see social activity, validate and preview semantic markup, and even view keyword difficulty on the SERP.
