Get a Starter Site with Ecwid

Posted on 8.21.2014

Ecwid is helping merchants without websites establish a presence online, as the e-commerce solutions provider has rolled out a new “Starter Site” offering.

With the offering, merchants can create a free, mobile-friendly, one-page website with a built-in Ecwid store. To create a Starter Site, merchants simply need to create an Ecwid account and add their products and photos in order to start taking orders. Merchants can also name their site in the Ecwid control panel, while paid Ecwid users can further personalize their Starter Site with a custom domain name. It is also important to note that merchants who want to eventually create a larger Web presence can paste their Starter Site into platforms like Wordpress, Joomla, Wix, Facebook, Tumblr and more.

“The Ecwid shopping cart’s core strength is its ability to be easily integrated into any web presence, but now even a merchant with no existing site can be selling in minutes with Starter Site,” said Eugene Kaznacheev, head of product for Ecwid. “We see this as a significant step in our mission to democratize e-commerce.”

The Ecwid platform is used by small business merchants in 175 countries and 45 languages. Moreover, Ecwid featuers responsive design and is one of the most popular store builder apps on Facebook, with more than 300,000 monthly active users.
