Getting More From Video
Cloud-based Web development platform Wix has released a solution that hopes to bring vastly improved capabilities to enterprises' video-related initiatives.
The new Wix Video offering is an all-in-one tool that provides enterprise users an opportunity to "centralize" their video library and combine the video's they curate into a single online portfolio/play (regardless of the host - e.g., YouTube, Vimeo or Facebook). The solution could prove quite appealing to companies, particularly those interested in offering lessons, tutorials or online classes, as Wix Video also makes it possible for its users to sell or rent their video content via monthly subscriptions, individual purchases or temporary passes. Wix will also allow its users to keep all the revenue they generate (in other words, Wix is not taking a commission).
"Video is a powerful medium, and we believe video creators should be the ones with the power, having complete control over how their content is displayed and how it is monetized," said Danielle Raiz, Head of Wix Video at Wix.com.
"Wix Video was developed to help our passionate users get the most out of video by opening up exciting new options for display and distribution. Importantly, we decided that while other platforms may take portions of video revenues from users, Wix Video will take no commission and was launched, as with all of our products, to further increase Wix users' successes."
