Give Consumers Your UserStats to Build Trust

Posted on 7.21.2014

Earning consumers' trust is seen by many as the most important thing companies can do.

There are multiple ways for merchants to build trust (blogs, customer reviews, etc.) but a relative newcomer has come to light that can help customers feel good about their dealings with a company.

hotjar, a provider of website analytics, has announced the release of a new tool called UserStats. While typical website analytics software allows Web workers and developers to see the different statistics of a website, UserStats allows consumers to see a website's statistics.

The thought behind this tool is that consumers will have more trust in a product when they know that others have purchased and used it. UserStats can display a multitude of different stats to consumers including, downloads and installs, orders and sign-ups/subscriptions. The tool also shows real-time stats including the number of users currently looking at a page.

UserStats integrates into a company’s website through a responsive widget. The decision to make the widget responsive was crucial because it allows for use on all devices without creating an unpleasant visual experience for the user.

Websites that are currently using Userstats include fireprotectiononline.co.uk, ddlfiles.com and covers.com.
