Glassdoor Shows Off Reviews & Ratings

Posted on 8.07.2014

Before you switch jobs, you should know if the grass really is that much greener on the other side. Job/career community Glassdoor wants to lend a digital hand, releasing its new Benefits Review feature, which aims to make it simpler for its users to compare benefits and perks at companies and determine which prospective employer might be the best fit for them personally.

Glassdoor users are asked to rate how satisfied they are with their employers' overall benefits package, covering categories including health and wellness, financial and retirement, family and parenting, vacation and time off, perks and discounts, as well as professional support. Glassdoor has already collected more than 4,000 anonymous benefits reviews on companies like Amazon, Hewlett-Packard and The Home Depot.

"Job seekers are already evaluating and comparing job offers, but with very little information on what a benefits package really entails or whether it meets the needs of employees. We're proud to break down this information barrier, and in turn, help job seekers make more informed career decisions," said Allyson Willoughby, Glassdoor senior vice president of people and general counsel. "Benefits and perks carry both personal and monetary value and can greatly impact an employee's satisfaction with their company. By unlocking information about benefits from those in the know, we believe it will also lead to improved recruitment and employee retention rates."
