GoDaddy Goes Mad for Email Marketing

Email is an essential part of a business's marketing campaign.

With the number of emails being sent every day steadily growing, it is no surprise that companies are making moves to sure up their email capabilities.

With this goal in mind, GoDaddy has announced the acquisition of Mad Mimi, an email marketing company.

Over the last two years GoDaddy has made an abundance of acquisitions in the small and medium sized business (SMB) market including Ronin, a SMB invoicing provider, and, a SMB mobile website development tool. Now, with the core marketing technology that is Mad Mimi, GoDaddy offers SMBs an almost complete spectrum of tools to help start, as well as improve, their web presence.

According to its website, Mad Mimi sends more than 40 million emails every day. Their simple design makes it easy for users to create fully customized email campaigns that can contain various features including social network and customer relationship management integration's. A few of the numerous high profile integration options that Mad Mimi provides are for Shopify Plus, PayPal Zap, Nimble, WordPress, Intuit QuickBooks and Salesforce.

In a recent interview, Founder and CEO of Mad Mimi, Gary Levitt, stated that while the integrations that Mad Mimi offers are important they are more of the “icing on the cake” and that he believes Mad Mimi was acquired in large part for its overall design and simplicity stating that “simple gets clicks”.

Levitt also stated that although there have been a few naysayers since the acquisition, the vast majority of the feedback they have been hearing has been positive.

While the financial terms of the deal have not been disclosed, GoDaddy has revealed that Mad Mimi will still operate as a standalone application as well as collaborate together to release a new product on the Mad Mimi platform in 2015.
