Goodbye Link Explorer, Hello Inbound Link Tool
Bing announced that Link Explorer, its link analysis tool used by many SEOs since 2012, would be shut down starting Oct. 1.
The tool was actually quite popular among the search engine optimization community as it provided some good data on a site's inbound link profile as well as that of a competitor. Bing indicated that its index has grown so significant however in terms of its size and architecture that Link Explorer was simply not able to keep up.
Fortunately, all is not lost.
Bing recommended the use of its own Inbound links tool as an alternative for assessing links, which can be found within the Reports & Data Section of Webmaster Tools. While Link Explorer would only enable SEOs to analyze a sample of backlinks, the Inbound Links tool makes it possible to view and export up to one million inbound links at once including the link source and anchor text of the link.
