Add Quick Action Buttons to Gmail Emails
Google has expanded the functionality of its “Quick Action buttons”, allowing consumers to effortlessly take actions on new types of tasks without digging through an email message.
The Quick Action feature presents clickable icons next to certain types of messages within the inbox. The feature, which was launched back in May, initially allowed consumers to do things like RSVP to events via Google Calendar or view important flight information. The new Quick Action icons, however, provide even more functionality, enabling consumers to rate and review restaurants they’ve ordered from on Seamless, modify OpenTable reservations, save Google Offer promotions, view finished Vimeo and YouTube video uploads, as well as open shared files from Dropbox, Google Docs, Sheets and Slides.
It is important to note that the Quick Action feature not only makes taking actions more convenient for consumers, but also makes messages stand out within the inbox. Google says that the company will continue to add more types of actions to the feature in the future. In the meantime, email marketers can visit the Google Developer site to learn how to add Quick Action buttons to their campaigns.
