Google and Microsoft Shopping Wars Save You Money

Posted on 8.24.2008

Google and Microsoft are vying for your attention in the online shopping environment, and that means savings for you. Microsoft has been running a Live Search cashback program, which will cut costs for the consumer by varying percentages. Essentially, just visit the site and shop. You will need to sign up for a cashback account before you can get the savings. And there are some significant savings to be found. After 60 days of your purchase, you can claim your refund when you're account reaches at least five dollars.

Google, of course, will not be left out. Their Back-to-School savings program offers $5-$10 savings on items from any of their partnered stores using Google Checkout. There are minimum purchase amounts to qualify, however you can return as many times as you like and get the discount every time you shop. If you're planning some online shopping soon, take advantage of what's being offered and you could see significant savings.
