Google Course Builder Goes Open Source

An open source course building web application has been released by Google this week and it's definitely worth of a look if you're currently providing, or are interested in providing, an online learning destination for your audience.

The platform, which powered Google's popular "Power Searching with Google" course taken by over 155,000, aims to "bring education to a global audience." That's certainly a noble aim but it's not just the K-12 or college crowd however that should be interested in the experimental technology - any enterprise, organization or individual with experience creating course material and that has familiarity with HTML and JavaScript can create their own course using the platform.

There are, of course, numerous learning management systems on the market today, but where Google goes, so goes the industry, meaning that quite a bit of innovation can be expected in the online learning space as a result of the company's interest in online learning.

Good things to come? We think so, but how about you?
