Google Helps Local Businesses Increase Visibility
Google is helping to put local businesses on the map (and in the search results), thanks to its new platform dubbed “Google My Business.”
Google My Business aims to bring together all of Google’s services that can help businesses increase their visibility on the Web into one place. Through the platform, users can update their business information on Search, Maps and Google+, as well as add images or virtual tours of their business, share content from their Google+ Page, monitor reviews from around the Web and respond to Google reviews.
Plus, Google My Business enables users to monitor insights and features an integration with AdWords Express. Lastly, the new platform offers an Android app where business owners can manage their information while on-the-go (an iOS app is expected to launch soon). Perhaps the most noteworthy information from Google’s announcement, however, is that the company is upgrading current users of Places for Business and the Google+ dashboard to the new Google My Business experience.
