Google Increases Search Security

Posted on 2.23.2015

With consumers demanding more security on the Internet, companies are taking extra efforts to make their users feel safe on their sites.

Google has recently announced an increased effort to warn users of websites that can contain downloads for malicious software.

Through this expanded effort, Google has increased security in Chrome, Search and ads in order to keep users as safe as possible. In Chrome, users will now see a warning message displayed before Google sends them to a Web page that contains malicious and nefarious program downloads. To help users avoid these sites before they ever click on them, Google’s search engine results pages now include signals that identify these sites in the hopes of deterring users from clicking through to malicious websites.

Furthermore, to help users feel safe when clicking on ads, Google has begun to disable ads on its network that lead to sites with malicious software.
