Google Launching Chromebook Web-based Laptop
That’s Google’s tagline for the new Chromebook, a Web-based laptop that runs on the high-powered Chrome OS, stores all software, documents and data online, and is due to go on sale in June. The Chromebooks represent a new model of computing that Google says is simpler, faster and more efficient than anything today’s Windows- or Mac-powered machines can do. The Chromebooks also signify Google’s focus on browser and cloud-based computing. But how many users are really ready to make a major shift in the way we operate our businesses and manage our personal lives? Certainly, that’s why Google is heavily promoting the $350 product to students on college campuses — who are usually ready for anything.
